The highly anticipated Season Finale of Doctor Who airs on BBC America, Saturday, July 1 at 7:30pm(CST) The emotinally charged two-part show stopper stars Actor Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor, Pearl Mackie as Bill, Matt Lucas as Nardole, Michelle Gozez as Missy and John Simm as The Master.
Part one of the finale, titled World Enough and Time, airs Saturday June 24 with Part two, The Doctor Falls, follows a week later at the slightly earlier time.
What happens in the Doctor Who finale?
The 12th Doctor’s swan-song kicks off this week with part one of the finale. Missy joins the TARDIS team for the first time since turning “good”, as friendship drives the Doctor to make the rashest decision of his 13 lives.
Trapped on a giant spaceship that is hurtling towards a black hole, he witnesses the death of a friend he vowed to protect. For once, time is the Time Lord’s enemy as each passing seconds leads to impending doom. World Enough and Time features the return of the Mondasian Cybermen, who have not appeared on the show for 50 years. It also brings back John Simm as The Master for the first time since 2010’s The End of Time.
Details on part two are scarce, with the official synopsis giving little away. It reads: “The Doctor makes a final stand against an army of Cybermen to protect a tiny band of humans from destruction.”
Following the finale, Peter Capaldi will make one final appearance as the Doctor in this year’s Christmas special. Capaldi has said that his regeneration is “complicated”, and it is widely rumoured that the process will begin during the season 10 finale.
Showrunner Steven Moffat will also bow out after the festive edition, with Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall set to take his place. It is not yet known whether Bill (Pearl Mackie) or Nardole (Matt Lucas) will return for season 11, nor who will replace Capaldi as the Doctor. Michelle Gomez has confirmed that she will step down as Missy, telling Radio Times: “My pals are going so I’m going.”

The Doctor has a new companion...Guess Who?????!
Mackie, 28, replaces Jenna Coleman, whose character Clara Oswald left the show in 2015. She graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2010, played Anne-Marie Frasier in Doctors in 2014 and is currently performing in the National Theatre's West End production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time.
On joining the cast in her first major television role, Pearl said: ?I?m incredibly excited to be joining the Doctor Who family. It?s such an extraordinary British institution, I couldn?t be prouder to call the TARDIS my home!
Reading the script at the audition I thought Bill was wicked. Fantastically written, cool, strong, sharp, a little bit vulnerable with a bit of geekiness thrown in ? I can?t wait to bring her to life, and to see how she develops through the series." Regarding the 12th Doctor, Actor Peter Capaldi, Pearl says "Peter is such a brilliant actor, and his Doctor is such a wacky and wonderful character, I can?t wait to see what adventures are in store for him and Bill throughout time and space.
Filming for the next series of the long-running science fiction show will start in June but air in 2017. Good Luck Pearl and we'll see you and the Doctor in The Tardis when the new season begins Saturday, April 15!

It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the Doctor grabbed Rose’s hand (and our hearts) and said, “Run.” Thus began the beginning of a weird, vast and mysterious journey through time and space that Whovians will never forget.
That’s right, today is the 10th anniversary of the BBC reboot of Doctor Who, which aired its first episode, “Rose,” on March 26, 2005. That episode made a die-hard Whovian of many of us, and we’ve stuck by through three more incarnations of the Doctor, and dozens of amazing companions.
One die-hard Whovian in particular, YouTube user VG934, made a special anniversary trailer for Doctor Who to celebrate 10 years of catchphrases, bow ties, time paradoxes and heartbreaking goodbyes. It’s been a timey wimey, wibbly wobbly 10 years, guys. Let’s hope for another 10.
